Gemsperience – Regensburg, Juwelier, Schmuck, Verlobungsring, Trauring

“Diamonds are forever” is not a saying without reason – they are the noblest among the precious stones

Diamond rings convince, especially by their elegance, and are therefore a great companion both in the office and at parties. Diamond ring can be wonderfully combined with other jewelry, for example, the engagement ring or diamond earrings.

You have a wide range of choices when it comes to diamond rings for women. Diamonds come in different cuts, e.g. round (brilliant cut), but also princess cut, oval cut, cut as drops or baguette cut. And that is not all. Whether 0.1 carat or 0.5 carat or even 1.0 carat, different sizes or weights of diamonds can make a diamond ring look very different.

How to take care of a diamond ring?

If you do not regularly clean your diamond, dirt, oil, and other substances can become stuck in it, causing your ring to lose its brilliance and appear dull. Even a small amount of residue can affect how light reflects off the diamond. To maintain the diamond’s sparkle, it is important to clean your engagement ring multiple times throughout the year.

To maintain the sparkle and value of your diamond ring, it’s important to clean it regularly using a gentle cleaning solution and a soft-bristled brush to remove dirt and oil from the crevices. It’s also crucial to avoid exposing the ring to harsh chemicals such as chlorine and bleach that can cause damage. Proper storage in a jewelry box or soft cloth bag is recommended to prevent scratches, and taking the ring to a jeweler for regular inspections and professional cleaning can help maintain its brilliance. Additionally, it’s best to avoid wearing the ring during strenuous activities that could damage it, such as sports or weightlifting, and to remove it before engaging in such activities.

How can I recognize a fake diamond ring from a real one?

Robert M. Shipley, who founded the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in the 1940s, came up with the 4Cs – color, clarity, cut, and carat weight – to help his students remember the key characteristics of a faceted diamond. Reputable gem labs such as the GIA provide diamond grading reports or certificates that include grades and details of a diamond’s features using the 4Cs standard. These reports are important because the final grade assigned to a diamond has a significant impact on its value. While there are many certificates available worldwide, Gemsperience only sells diamonds that are certified by the three most prestigious institutes: GIA, IGI, and HRD.

On which hand should I wear a diamond ring?

If the diamond ring in question is an engagement ring in that case, many cultures have a tradition of wearing the engagement ring on the left hand. If we are talking about a regular diamond ring, then you can wear it freely however you choose.

Traditionally, a diamond ring is worn on the ring finger of the left hand. In many cultures, this finger is believed to have a special vein, called the “vena amoris,” which is said to run directly to the heart. However, the choice of which hand to wear a diamond ring on can vary depending on cultural and personal preferences. In some countries or cultures, it is customary to wear the ring on the right hand or on a different finger. Ultimately, the decision of which hand to wear a diamond ring on is up to the wearer and what feels most comfortable and meaningful to them.
